Gaudí in one day

Casa Batlló, La Pedrera, the Sagrada Família and Park Güell fit in one day if you book every timed slot ahead and put the sites in the right order. Here is a plan that works, and when a guided day is simpler.

All four big Gaudí sites run on timed tickets, and two of them, the Sagrada Família and Park Güell, will not let you in if you arrive late. Park Güell also sits up a hill, out of the centre. Those two facts decide the order of your day.

Below: a sample schedule, the transfer times between sites, what to book before you travel, and how the guided alternatives compare.

The quick answer

Yes, it is doable but full. Keep the two Passeig de Gràcia houses together (about 500 m apart), put Park Güell at one end of the day, and book every timed slot in advance. A sample day: Casa Batlló at 9:00, La Pedrera at 10:30, the Sagrada Família at 12:00, lunch, then Park Güell at 16:00.

Can you see all of Gaudí's main buildings in one day?

Yes, the four main ones, but it is a rushed day and every slot must be booked ahead.

Visit lengths add up quickly: about 1 h 15 min in Casa Batlló, about an hour in La Pedrera, 1.5 to 3 hours in the Sagrada Família and 1 to 2 hours in Park Güell. Add transfers and lunch and you have a full day with little slack.

What is the best order to visit the Gaudí sites?

Keep Casa Batlló and La Pedrera together, and put Park Güell first or last.

Park Güell in the late afternoon gets the best light; first thing in the morning (tourist slots start at 9:30) gets the thinnest crowds. A good reverse plan is Park Güell early, then down to the Sagrada Família, then the two houses in the afternoon and evening: Casa Batlló stays open into the evening, and La Pedrera sells a cheaper Sunset ticket from 17:30. At the Sagrada Família, 9:00 to 10:00 has been a daily "quiet hour" since February 2026, with earphones required for audio content.

How do you get between the Gaudí sites?

Walk between the houses and the Sagrada Família; use a taxi, the metro or a bus for Park Güell.

  • Casa Batlló to La Pedrera: about 500 m, 5 to 10 minutes on foot.
  • La Pedrera to the Sagrada Família: about 1.3 km, 15 to 20 minutes on foot.
  • To Park Güell: metro L3 to Lesseps or Vallcarca, then about 20 minutes uphill (escalators help on part of the Vallcarca side), or a taxi of about 10 to 15 minutes. Buses 24 and V19 go close but are often packed.
  • Park Güell to the Sagrada Família: 30 to 40 minutes on foot, mostly downhill, or 10 to 15 minutes by taxi.

Park Güell is the one site you need transport for.

Which tickets do you need to book in advance?

All four. Each site sells timed tickets, and Park Güell and the Sagrada Família refuse late arrivals.

Park Güell asks you to enter within 30 minutes of your slot, and same-day tickets often sell out. Book the Sagrada Família and Park Güell first, since they are the least flexible, then fit the houses around them. Prices are in our price guide: about €100 per adult for all four.

How does the Complete Gaudí Tour organise the same day?

It starts on Passeig de Gràcia, goes inside Casa Batlló, passes La Pedrera, rides up to Park Güell and takes a minivan down to the Sagrada Família.

That is the same logic as the plan above: the houses together, Park Güell as the only transport leg, the basilica at the end so you can stay on. The complete option lasts up to 5.5 hours. The difference is that La Pedrera is outside only, and you do not choose how long to stay anywhere.

The tour goes up to Park Güell by public transport and down by minivan.

Is a guided day better than doing it yourself?

A guided day saves the booking and the transfers; doing it yourself saves money and lets you set the pace.

Guests on the Complete Gaudí Tour praise the guides and the skip-the-line entries, and some say it felt rushed. If you want a slower guided day, Gaudí in One Day runs 6.5 hours with taxis and a tapas and cava stop at El Cafè de la Pedrera, and it goes inside La Pedrera instead of Casa Batlló. What if you only have half a day?

Do Park Güell and the Sagrada Família, the two sites that are hardest to do alone.

The Park Güell and Sagrada Família tour covers both in about four hours with a private transfer between them. Casa Batlló and La Pedrera are then easy to add on your own another day, since they are on the same boulevard and in the centre.

What should you skip if the day runs late?

Drop one of the two houses: the other still shows you Gaudí's domestic work, and they are the easiest to revisit.

If you have to choose, Casa Batlló vs La Pedrera weighs them up. Do not drop Park Güell for lack of time on a short trip without checking the tickets: they are timed and cannot be moved on the day.
